Colorado Shines is a free resource for programs, early childhood professionals
and families

Colorado Shines is the quality rating and improvement system for all of
Colorado’s licensed early care and learning programs serving children ages 0-5. Services include

  • ● Coaching to prepare for the Colorado Shines Quality Rating licensed child care centers, family child
    care homes and preschool programs
  • ● Help programs continue to improve the quality of services they
    provide with
    o Support with quality improvement goals and
    implementation
    o Environment Rating Scale (ERS) Assessment
    o Environment Coaching
    o Assist with purchasing learning materials with Quality improvement funds
    o Support and technical assistance with the Professional Development Information System
    (PDIS) and the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS)
    o Support new programs with environment setup and materials
  • Show families a program is committed to quality

Introduction to Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale (FCCERS) Tool to help create high quality early learning environments
Information about the Child Care Assistance Program
Early Learning and Development Guidelines information is made available to providers
Introduction to the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and Ages & Stages – Social Emotional (ASQSE) to measure child developmental, emotional, physical, or cognitive disabilities or delays.
